What is love you ask?
It is to have the eyes to see what is obvious but convenient to ignore.
It is to have the ears to hear the plea for intimacy that one can become deaf to.
It is to have the nose to breathe in familiar scents and stoke a memory.
It is to have the lips to caress and leave a trail of fire over familiar skin.
It is to have a touch that can make a person feel human again.
It is to have the words to soothe a soul when it is weary.
It is to have kindness to give when one feels least like it.
It is to have a shoulder to rest upon in companionship always.
It is to have the arms that will lend itself without being asked.
It is to have a heart that beats faster in passion.
It is to have a mind that does not waver in commitment.
It is to stay alive as a lover within and in another.
It is to have the will to go past one's weariness.
It is to have feet that move in a crisis with speed.
It is to have the presence of the other in all that one does.
It is to have a body that learns to move in rhythm with the other.
It is to have the mind and desire to love the other and be loved.
It is to have the ability to see anew the familiar and want no other.
It is to wander afar knowing the light shines for you in another.
It is to know happy solitude and easy companionship.
It is to know the bitter fear of impending loss or separation,
It is to know words can be unsaid and silences can be broken.
It is to gift time when one does not have it.
It is to gift attention when the other craves it.
It is to have doubts and grow past them.
It is to come home to oneself in another again and again.
It is to know that if one had to choose again, one would choose no other.
It is to know that the gift of life's moments together meant something after all.
It is to see one's light shining in the other by the light of the fading years.
